25 Heroes for 25 Years
Earlier this year myself and MSA Trust colleagues discussed the fact that this year would be our 25th anniversary as a charitable Trust. We wondered what we could do to mark the occasion and felt that the most important thing was to say a HUGE thank you to everyone connected to MSA Trust.
It feels fitting that this final blog, wrapping up our 25 Heroes for 25 Years should be on the date of our founder, Sarah’s, 85th birthday.
So, what would Sarah have thought of all the things that have happened over these past 25 years? Sarah knew only too well the frustration of not having any information. One of the first things she wanted to happen within the charity was for people to be able to get together and share information – our variety of in-person, online, introductory, carer’s and future planning Support Groups are a result of years of developing those to meet the needs of the people we serve.
She would have been astounded by the information on the factsheets and guides and the help from the professionals in developing those would have been exactly what Sarah would have done. No point preparing a factsheet if you have not checked and confirmed the facts!
The research and the development of our partnership Clinical Research Training Fellowship would have truly pleased her. She believed passionately in ensuring professionals received the correct education from the start about MSA and would have delighted in our MSA Study Days I’m sure. I think she would have been pretty impressed by all the research we have undertaken over the years too.
Thank you to all our heroes over the past 25 years. We could not have developed and grown the charity without the help of everyone around us.
