Representation and promotion
The MSA Trust attend events and conferences to promote our work, raise awareness and share research findings wherever possible.
The Nurses attend the Parkinson’s Disease Nurse association conference each year where they get to connect with current Parkinson’s Nurse colleagues and meet new ones. Parkinson’ Nurses are able to register with us at the conference, learn about the services we offer and meet the MSA nurse for their area.
We also attend regional events for healthcare professionals, such as study days and network meetings, to promote the work of the MSA Trust, meet multidisciplinary team healthcare professional colleagues and to provide advice and information about MSA.
We have represented the MSA Trust at the International Congress of Multiple System Atrophy and at MSA Coalition conferences.
In January 2020, MSAT nurses Emma Saunders Jill Lyons and Emma Saunders attended the British Movement Disorders (BritMODIS) conference for Neurologists, Geriatricians, Therapists and PD Nurse Specialists and hosted a poster stand to present the results of our MSA Needs Survey to attending healthcare professionals.
Our Research Fellow Viorica Chelban presented her work in a poster session at the Association of British Neurologists in Edinburgh in May 2019.
MSA researchers regularly present their MSA Trust-funded research findings at conferences and in journals all over the world.
