Professor Jalesh Panicker is a Professor of Uro‑Neurology and Clinical Neurology at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, and a Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN).
His clinical expertise focuses on the management of neurogenic bladder dysfunction, particularly in people living with neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and related disorders. He leads a specialist pelvic neurology service, addressing bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction associated with neurological disease.
Professor Panicker completed his medical training at the University of Kerala and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in India. He has published over 150 peer‑reviewed research papers and 35 book chapters, and has edited two textbooks in the field of uro‑neurology.
He is actively involved in medical education and the training of healthcare professionals. His research, supported by external grant funding, has made a significant contribution to understanding the neural control of the lower urinary tract and improving the clinical management of associated dysfunctions.
