Meet Our Volunteers
“The best thing about volunteering is providing a place where people with MSA and their carers can meet and spend an afternoon in a different environment”

Dennis, Former Support Group Helper
I was initially diagnosed with MSA around 2005. After more tests I discovered that I had a hereditary condition that is controlled by medication. At that time the MSA Trust was looking for volunteers to run a support group in Devon so I took up the challenge.
We have our nurse specialist at these meetings for advice and support. After discussions it turns into a lovely social afternoon which everyone enjoys. I volunteered to help everyone and their partners or carers who also come along. I love seeing everyone leave happy. I enjoy working as a team.
Brenda, Former Support Group Helper
I started volunteering with the MSA trust as my husband was living with MSA. We didn’t know of any support groups in our area or anyone else with the condition. As a volunteer I chatted to people and made them welcome at our meetings. The best thing about volunteering is providing a place where people with MSA and their carers can meet and spend an afternoon in a different environment, and discuss openly the circumstances they find themselves in.
