The Path to a Cure is a path that leads to our founder, Sarah Matheson’s tree and is made up of engraved bricks. The path represents our shared hope to understand MSA better and one day find a cure. As more people take part, the path will continue to grow, becoming longer and more inclusive.
Each brick carries the name of someone from the MSA community, including:
- People living with MSA
- Those who have sadly passed away
- Family members, carers and friends
- Staff and Trustees
- Volunteers
- MSA researchers
We welcome anyone impacted by MSA to be a part of this project.
Use the form below to order an engraved brick for yourself or a loved one. We ask for a minimum donation of ÂŁ60 to cover our costs. Please note, while we accept orders for engraved bricks throughout the year, additions to the path are laid annually. To have your brick included in our 2026 installation, please place your order by April 30th 2026.
“It was very emotional seeing my dad’s brick but I was extremely proud to see his name and to remember how he handled his diagnosis with such dignity and strength. He lived every day without complaint and only ever concentrated on the things he could do rather than what he couldn’t. He will forever be an inspiration to our entire family and will be forever missed.”
Founded in memory of our founder, Sarah Matheson, who was diagnosed with MSA in 1993 and passed away in 1999, Sarah’s Wood was established in 2017 to mark the 20th anniversary of the MSA Trust.
Generously donated by Sarah’s family and located in Sherwood Forest. The Wood stands as a lasting symbol of hope and remembrance for all those affected by MSA, inspired by Sarah’s life and legacy.
