Symptoms of the Parkinson’s area

Some examples of the Parkinson’s type symptoms someone with MSA may have:

  • Stiff arms and legs
  • Slow shuffling movement
  • Difficult to move once in bed, can’t roll over or get up out of bed easily
  • Difficult to hold, grip and co-ordinate things e.g. using a toothbrush to clean teeth, holding a pen to write, holding cutlery or cutting up food
  • Can’t stand for long so washing themselves or preparing food is difficult
  • Get tired more easily so they may fall asleep in the daytime
  • May be shaky so can spill things or struggle with fiddly things like zips.
