AMRC works to ensure that medical research funded by charities is of the highest quality, promoting excellence, transparency and accountability throughout the research funding process. Its members collectively invest hundreds of millions of pounds in research each year, supporting the development of new treatments, improving patient care and advancing our understanding of a wide range of health conditions.
A key part of AMRC membership is the Expert Review Audit, a rigorous assessment of how charities award and manage research funding. The audit ensures that research grants are allocated through robust, independent and unbiased peer-review processes, giving confidence to researchers, donors, partners and the public that funding decisions are based on scientific excellence and potential impact.
We are delighted to have successfully passed the AMRC Expert Review Audit 2025, demonstrating our commitment to funding research to the highest standards.
The audit recognised the strength of our research governance and funding processes, while also supporting our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement. Passing the audit reflects the dedication of our staff, trustees, researchers and volunteers who work together to ensure that every research investment made by the MSA Trust is carefully reviewed and directed towards projects with the greatest potential to improve the lives of people affected by Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).
