Nikki joined the MSA Trust in 2025 and is now Director of Operations and Research, supporting the day‑to‑day running of the organisation and the development of its research work.
Nikki brings over 20 years of experience in the NHS, where she worked as a physiotherapist in critical care. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience leading teams and managing complex services within demanding healthcare environments teamwork, necessitating fiscal responsibility, problem‑solving, and managing change. Alongside her NHS career, Nikki has taken a rather unconventional professional path that includes roles as an agricultural account manager, a hen‑do planner, and an extra in The Lord of the Rings.
Her decision to join the MSA Trust was influenced by the loss of her father to Multiple System Atrophy. This personal connection gives meaning to her work and a strong sense of responsibility to ensure the Trust’s activities are focused on making a genuine difference for those affected by the condition. In her role, Nikki works closely with colleagues across the organisation, contributing to strategic delivery and is particularly focused on advancing research activity directly funded by the Trust.
Outside of work, Nikki enjoys travel and spending time outdoors, particularly hiking and gardening.
